My name is Melissa Leon. I am originally from Hales Corners (a suburb of Milwaukee), Wisconsin. Since 3rd grade it has been my desire to become a teacher, thanks in part to the wonderful role models at my grade school who encouraged me to pursue teaching.
I graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in May 2011 with degrees in Elementary Education and Lay Ministry/Theology. In June 2012 God called me to serve at Trinity Lutheran School. Teaching at Trinity has been a blessing and I look forward to starting my 3rd year here!
My favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." The verse teaches me that God's plan is always best, even if I don't see it at the time. Romans 8:28 is a great reminder to trust God in ALL situations.
Besides teaching, my interests are reading (especially Christian fiction and non-fiction and children's books), coodinating K.f.C. (youth group for 4th and 5th graders), playing the organ, playing tennis, watching the Food Network with Miss Filter, and playing Mario Kart.
I look forward to seeing what God has in store for the 2014-'15 school year!
"Mercy Forever!"
